Mahanaim FC Edge Strikers Hub in 6-Goal Thriller
Mahanaim FC were at their usual best on Saturday as they found the back of the net four times against familiar foes Strikers Hub at Mahanaim Arena.
Mahanaim attackers fired on all cylinders without leaving room for players in other departments to get on the score sheet. It was a first-goal delight for Odenigbo Emmanuel and Yusuf Adigun, who both scored their first official goals for the club, while Mamoudou Batchily and Usama Shuaibu delivered expected performances.
Mahanaim led 1-0 at halftime after Emmanuel put the Hot Boys ahead midway through the opening 45 minutes. Several chances were missed thereafter, but the boys returned with bangers in the second half.
Usama Shuaibu rewarded himself with a well-taken penalty — which he also won — early in the second half to double the lead. Usama was also involved as Yusuf Adigun grabbed his first goal for the club.
Prolific goalscorer Mamoudou Batchily scored the fourth goal after getting on the end of a cross from Usama as the Hot Boys ran rampant. However, a slight loss of concentration in defense proved costly as the boys conceded a penalty before allowing another goal.
The Hot Boys created more chances thereafter but were unlucky not to get a fifth goal, as the match ended 4-2 in favour of Mahanaim FC.
